Overlooking the Indian Ocean near Mossel Bay, the golf course was designed by Peter Matkovich and 2011 Open Champion Darren Clark. Pinnacle Point golf club is one of the world’s most unique and scenic golf courses, situated on the cliffs of the Garden Route. It is also home to the Louis Oosthuizen’s 57 Academy.

This clifftop fynbos golf course inspires the golfer to play this challenging layout with a reasonable high level of respect due to its dramatic views and breathtaking terrain. The 72-par layout is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs, four of which are played over the ocean and cliff edges. All of the 18 holes have been designed to fit the undulating contours of the land.

The first hole is a long par 4. This dogleg to the left plays a little uphill with wide fairways and a green surrounded by an amphitheatre of the embankment. When playing this hole aim for the two fairway bunkers on the right which will leave you with an open approach shot.

Considering the 9^th par 3’s stroke 2, the green is perched on top of a 40-meter sheer ocean cliff. It is better to be safe on the fairways close to the bunkers on the right than the Ocean water hazard.

The 17^th par 3 has a long green, a long bunker caressing the green on the left and an even more extended flank of fynbos down on the right. From the raised tees, you will look down on the green which has a slight dogleg left.
