Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve

The Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve, situated within the Cradle of Humankind in the Highveld region, is a privately owned game reserve with over 650 heads of the game from over 25 varied species of antelope, big game, predators, and birds and some scarce and endangered species. Day visitors can explore the reserve in their own vehicles along well-maintained gravel roads suited for any vehicle. A leisurely drive through the reserve will take 2-3 hours and usually ends with a stop at the Kiosk / Day Visitors Centre, where many braai and picnic facilities are available, along with the Boma Restaurant and Croc Pub, Children’s Play Park, Animal Creche and Reptile Park. Other facilities include the incredible Wondercave, the Neck & Deck Café situated just outside the reserve entrance where one can feed a giraffe, the Breeding Centre, Hippo Pools and Thatch Café, the Cradle Bike Park, and Waterfowl Park.
