Kambaku Golf Club is situated in the Komatipoort Mpumalanga and is a 9-hole course, which you play twice, set in the wildest corner of South Africa.

A group of dedicated Komatipoort farmers united as a community to clear the site in 1997. The golf course designer Douw van der Merwe added his expertise to the layout and the beautiful course, set at the convergence of the Komati and Crocodile Rivers along the foothills of the Lebombo mountain range, took shape.

Ideally situated close to the Kruger National Park, the course will challenge each and every level of the Golfer. Birdies are not just for the course so bring your binoculars and you might spot a few birds native to South Africa Safari Lands.

Kambaku Golf Club takes its name from one of the “Magnificent Seven” bull elephants that lived in the nearby Kruger National Park from 1930 to 1985. In the local language, Kambaku means “Bloody Big Tuskers”. The tusks of these seven bulls were said to have been 260 centimetres (103 Inches) long and each weighed a massive 64 kilograms (142 pounds).

A few years back, one, of the resident impalas was taken by a leopard on the second green. This does not happen too often but adds to the uniqueness of this little-known golf course.

The most recent addition has been the impressive signature tee box shared by the 5^th and 14^th holes. Situated at the highest point of the property, the viewpoint gives golfers a panoramic view of the forest canopy and Komati River.
