Elements Private Golf Reserve opened in 2005 and prides itself on being a world-class golf course integrated into a natural bushveld setting in the Bela-Bela district. It’s a championship golf course with an excellent array of different holes, in what is still undisturbed natural bush. This isolated layout in the heart of the Waterberg bushveld is a golfing treasure, regarded by many to be the crowning design achievement of Peter Matkovich.

The golf course winds its way over wide fairways, lined by trees and well bunkered. The three dams come into play over the length of the 18 holes, enticing both your wayward shots and the wildlife that can be seen on the course. Wildlife species found on the course include Kudu, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Blesbok, Red Hartebeest and Mountain Reedbuck.

The final two holes offer contrasting experiences next to a large water hazard. A stream winds through part of the course to a lake which forms the centrepiece of the design. It is here that Par 3, 9^th closes the outward half and the downhill Par 5, 18^th approaches from the other direction, to end a round by the waterside.

The 2^nd hole is the first of the Par 3’s and is straight uphill with a generous fairway and bailout options all-round the green. There is only one bunker back right, which does not often come into play.

The 14^th, Par 5 plays downhill to a wide fairway with bush protecting both sides. The green is relatively small and is long and narrow with bunkers both left and right with generous bailout landing areas front right of the green. It is always satisfying to make par here.
