The Els Club at Copperleaf is one of the ‘Signature’ Ernie Els designed golf courses in South Africa. Copperleaf is defined as a ‘modern classic’. Els Club Copperleaf is situated in the greater metropolitan area of Tshwane, or in our Highveld Hub, on a plot of land where Ernie’s late grandfather Ernie Vermaak grew up. The golf course hosted the European Tour’s Tshwane Open in 2013 and in 2014.

The 1^st hole eases you into the round with a gentle downhill par four which, turning slightly to the right, offers a friendly fairway and green.

The 2^nd hole gives you more of a taste of what lies ahead with a risk-and-reward tee option. Shorter hitters may favour the right side, away from the bunkers. The longer hitters capable of flying it left of the central fairway bunkers can earn the right to a shorter route.

The Par 4, 6^th is considered the signature hole on this golf course. The longer the tee shot, the less club you need for a demanding approach shot angled across a water hazard to an elevated green.

The back nine starts as strongly as the front nine finishes. The 10^th has well-positioned bunkers guarding key landing areas.

The 11^th is a long downhill Par 5 with rolling countryside in the distance, the sloping does assist in getting you down towards an elevated green that puts you in a very tranquil part of the course.

The 13^th is a great short Par 4 where a slope can help the longer players get to the putting surface with their tee shots.

The 17^th is a delightful short hole that plays a little more downhill than you think towards the water on the right. The finishing hole presents a spectacular tee shot opportunity to a generous fairway, for a finish at the green overlooked by the clubhouse.
