OVERVIEW
Arabella Golf Club and Spa is set dramatically on the edge of the Bot River Lagoon. This wetland is home to thousands of waterfowl so keep an eye out for the Blue Crane, the national bird of South Africa. Peter Matkovich laid Arabella out on what was originally stony farmland. Arabella Golf Club opened in 1998 for play it is said that the golf course is challenging enough to bring you back for more, enjoyable enough to make you not want to leave.
The Bot River Lagoon provides an unforgettable backdrop and the 8th hole, a magnificent Par 5, capitalises on the vista to a dramatic effect with the green seemingly cut into the lagoon itself. Bunkers were placed strategically around the greens and fairways to protect the local fynbos and to avoid any fairway and green treatments running off into the lagoon.
